Lynn Chong

Lynn Chong is a graduate student pursuing a Master of City Planning at the University of Pennsylvania. Here, she has conducted economic resilience and workforce development research for various urban planning projects. Recently, her contribution to the City of Philadelphia’s Night Time Economy Policy and Program Recommendations was presented at the National Planning Conference. Prior to graduate school, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Anthropology from the University of Chicago. Read more.

John Ponder White

John Ponder just finished his first year of the Masters of Public Policy program at the University of Minnesota. There he serves as the senior editor for the Public Affairs Review and sometimes work on a Christmas Tree farm. Before that he worked as a professional entertainment technician specializing in electrics. He is working on the Credential Engine project as well at the State Incentives database. Read more.

Jessica Holmes

Jessica Holmes is a graduate student at George Mason University, where she is pursuing a Master of Arts in Economics. As the James Buchanan Fellow, she has completed research on the impact of social media on special interest groups.

Jessica joined the Center for Regional Economic Competitiveness (CREC) team in May of 2022, and her primarily responsibility is updating the State Incentives database. She has also assisted on work being done for the Pennsylvania Manufacturing Advisory Council and Expanding Access to LMI. Read more.

Alec Romero

Alec is from Upland, California and recently graduated from the University of Redlands with a B.S. in Economics and Decision Making where he completed his senior honors thesis entitled Voting in Virtual Worlds: Do Item Prices Matter in Old School RuneScape Voting? He is interested in learning about economic realities and working towards creating an equitable labor market. As his thesis implies, Alec spends his spare time engaged in virtual worlds, normally known as video games, as well as reading dystopian novels. He is currently working on the Credential Engine Project on aggregating data from MOOC providers and secondary credentials, as well as assisting in counting credentials by region and population for the state of Alabama for its Success Plus Attainment Goal.
