Martin Romitti Spoke on Federal Sequestration Impacts at REMI Conference
October 18, 2012Martin Romitti, Senior Vice President at CREC, spoke about the potential economic effects from federal sequestration, set to begin in 2013, at the Regional Economic Models, Inc. “Government Policy and its Impact on the State and Local Economy” conference held in Washington DC on October 17, 2012. Sequestration would reduce federal spending by $1.2 trillion over the next ten years with cuts shared equally between defense and non-defense programs. Dr. Romitti highlighted his research on the job impacts to states and how these spending reductions harm important parts of our economy, infrastructure, and long-term growth prospects.
