CREC in Kansas City Kansas Examining Successful Regional Manufacturing Initiatives
May 8, 2013On May 8, 2013, Martin Romitti, Senior Vice President at CREC, met with officials from the Mid-America Manufacturing Technology Center (MAMTC), Kansas City Board of Public Utilities, and Wyandotte County Kansas about their innovative Pilot Energy Efficiency Program for manufacturers. The program provides manufacturers a means to fund energy efficiency improvements within their facilities, allowing them to achieve cost-savings and improve competitiveness. The program has also proven itself to be a valuable tool for business retention within the region. The trip was part of a CREC project to explore successful regional manufacturing initiatives happening across the country and the lessons they may hold for fueling a U.S. manufacturing resurgence.
