CREC Facilities NADO Disaster Resiliency Breakout Discussion in Washington D.C.
May 19, 2015Sarah Gutschow faciltated a breakout discussion at “Making Resilience the New Normal: A Convening of Local, Regional, and Federal Leaders” held in Washington D.C. The event was cohosted by the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) and International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
The breakout discussion, entitled “Business and Economic Resilience to Natural Disasters and Climate Change”, delved into ways that local and regional leaders can best provide support to businesses before and after disasters, as well as the federal resources available for disaster resiliency efforts. At this event, CREC also presented on the briefing paper, “Economic Recovery for Manufacturers”, they recently produced as part of the American Planning Association’s “Planning for Post-Disaster Recovery: Next Generation” initiative.
