C2ER and LMI Institute Co-host WIC Skills Initiative Convening in Arlington, Virginia
June 22, 2015Ron Kelly and Lindsay Johnson collaborated with the Workforce Information Council to host a natinal convening on skills data. The WIC Skills Convening brought together representatives from federal agencies, state LMI shops, higher education, and public policy to discuss best practices in the provision of skills data.
Key themes from the conversation will be incorporated into a summary report, which will ideally be used as a tool for guiding education and workforce development stakeholders in light of recent WIOA legislation.
The Workforce Information Council (WIC) is a nationwide federal-state cooperative, formed under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, charged with helping guide the development and improvement of the nationwide workforce and labor market information system.
