CREC Travels to Rochester, New York
November 19, 2015John Moratta and Lindsay Johnson traveled to Rochester, New York to conduct a site visit in conjunction with the National Institute of Standards and Technology-Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST-MEP) in preparation for an outcomes report on the lasting impacts of the Advanced Manufacturing Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge (AMJIAC).
John and Lindsay spoke with representatives from High Tech Rochester – the region’s MEP Center – the University of Rochester Center for Emerging & Innovative Sciences, and executive leadership from two local businesses in the optics, photonics, and imaging cluster in the Rochester region about the development, opportunities, support , and accomplishments their AMJIAC grant helped to create.
In May 2012, the Obama Administration announced the Advanced Manufacturing Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge (AMJIAC), a competitive multi-agency grant to support initiatives that strengthen advanced manufacturing at the local level.
