CREC Attends NIST-MEP Center Directors Meeting in Charleston, South Carolina
May 20, 2016Ken Poole and John Marotta attended the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Center Directors Meeting in Charleston, South Carolina.
At the meeting it was announced that the State Science and Technology Institute (SSTI) and CREC were awarded a new 5-year cooperative agreement with NIST-MEP to assist with their state relations program.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is a measurement standards laboratory, which is a non-regulatory agency of the United States Department of Commerce. The institute’s official mission is to promote U.S. innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science, standards, and technology in ways that enhance economic security and improve our quality of life.
Since 1988, the Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) has been committed to strengthening U.S. manufacturing, continually evolving to meet the changing needs of manufacturers. MEP’s strategic objective is to create value for all manufacturers, with a particular focus on small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs).
