Haden Springer, John Marotta, and Lindsay Johnson on behalf of the LMI Institute facilitated the LMI Directors Town Hall and New LMI Director Orientation at the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) State Day in Kansas City, Missouri.

Andrew Rogers, joined by KAR Director of Strategic Partnerships, John Hattery, presented at the 2016 National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida.

Ken Poole and John Marotta attended the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Center Directors Meeting in Charleston, South Carolina where it was announced CREC was awarded a new 5-year cooperative agreement to assist with the NIST-MEP state relations program.

The Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) released the 2016 County Level Index. The dataset includes 3,114 US counties based on an econometric model that identifies key determinants of an area’s cost of living.

Ken Poole moderated a panel discussing strategies for federal agencies to partner with states on small business lending at the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) Conference in Washington, D.C.

Sean McNamara and Spencer Abrams traveled to Denver, Colorado ahead of choosing a hotel to be the site of the 2017 Council for Community & Economic Research (C2ER) Annual Conference and Labor Market Information (LMI) Institute Annual Forum.
