Project Profile
Workforce Information Council’s Skills Initiative
CREC staff provided research and technical assistance to the Workforce Information Council’s Skills Initiative. This project will obtain a baseline assessment of the efforts engaged in by state LMI agencies in providing skills data to a variety of customer groups and the views of state LMI Directors about the current and future importance of providing skills data to a variety of customer group. The goal is to also start a national dialogue about best practices in the provision of skills data, to include states that can offer best practices as well as national policymakers. To accomplish these goals, LMI Institute staff conduct a survey of the states to get a baseline of current practices and views; convene a national meeting of subject matter experts and policy makers; and produce a summary document inclusive of survey data and discussions from the national convening.
