Inventory of Public and Private Sources of Education and Workforce Data

CREC created an inventory of public and private sources of education and workforce data to increase the capacity of the public Workforce and Labor Market Information System (WLMIS) to provide relevant data for education and training providers. The inventory considered a wide array of data sources that measure important WLMIS concepts, including: Households and People (e.g., American Community Survey), Jobs at Work (e.g., Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages), Students (e.g., National Student Clearinghouse Research Center), Postsecondary Education and Training Institutions (e.g., Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System), Occupational Profiles (e.g., Occupational Requirements Survey), and Regional Wage and Price Indices (e.g. Employment Cost Index). The final product was an easy-to-read matrix of 40 key data sources with features of each source and weblinks.
