Louisiana Statewide Military Economic Impact 2021
CREC worked with Business Development Advisors and The Roosevelt Group on a Military Economic Impact Analysis for the State of Louisiana to satisfy RS 29:65, which requires the Louisiana Military Advisory Council to complete a quadrennial statewide and regional military economic impact analysis. CREC worked on the state’s previous military spending impact analyses in 2017 and 2013 with BDA and The Roosevelt Group. The 2021 impact analysis considered fiscal year (FY) 2020 military spending in Louisiana across three categories: military facility and command activity, defense contracting, and military retiree spending. The Louisiana military facilities and activities studied include Barksdale Air Force Base, Fort Polk, Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base, Marine Forces Reserve, US Coast Guard 8th District, Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic, the 377th Theater Sustainment Command, and the Louisiana National Guard.
