Momentum West Talent Strategy
CREC, in partnership with the University of Northern Iowa’s Institute for Decision Making (IDM), assisted Momentum West with developing a Talent Retention and Attraction Action Plan comprised of an analysis of the region’s existing talent supply (Workforce Analysis), an assessment of its capacity to develop or attract workers (Asset Analysis), and an implementation plan for managing the region’s talent pipeline (Action Plan). The analysis and action plan reflected the unique needs of the Momentum West region combined with the experience of other benchmark regions encountering many of the same issues. The final result was a template for action–building as much as possible on initiatives already underway–that local economic development, workforce development, and education leaders can use to guide their action in the years ahead. The action plan included metrics to guide leaders in assessing performance and making mid-course corrections.
