Project Profile

New York State Energy Research Development Authority
Start Date: Mar 2024 — End Date: Sep 2024

CREC is partnering with Global Location Strategies (GLS) and MRB Group (MRB) to provide economic development and site selection expertise to support NYSERDA, Empire State Development (ESD), and other New York State policymakers in harnessing the economic development opportunities of clean energy manufacturing supply chains across various sectors, including battery storage, electric vehicles, solar photovoltaic, hydrogen production, commercial-scale clean heating, offshore wind, and clean transportation. The team’s work includes comparing New York to other states on the types of policies, approaches, incentives, and cost allocation models that have proven to accelerate industry growth and the supply and development of shovel ready sites. The team will also provide recommendations for New York to increase the number of shovel ready sites capable of meeting the needs of the clean energy industries, including a focus on access to land and sites, site development readiness, and electric and gas utility infrastructure necessary to attract clean energy manufacturing.
