The Center for Regional Economic Competitiveness (CREC) is an independent, not-for-profit organization founded to provide policy-makers from around the world with the information and technical assistance they need to formulate and execute innovative, regional, job-creating economic strategies.

Leif Olson is a Senior Research Analyst with CREC. Mr. Olson’s primary projects include supporting the State Economic Development Executives (SEDE) Network, Pennsylvania Manufacturing Council, and the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) project. Mr. Olson performs both qualitative and quantitative analysis for clients while providing communications materials and staff support for CREC.

Mr. Olson is a recent Graduate from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) with an M.A. in International Economics and a specialization in Economic Policy. As a graduate student, Mr. Olson published in two student journals and regularly contributed to the student newspaper as an economics columnist. Mr. Olson also holds a B.A. in International Relations from Wartburg College.
