As Manager of Operations, Events, and Communications for the Center for Regional Economic Competitiveness (CREC) and the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) since 2010, Mr. Spencer Abrams has played a vital role in the organization’s operations, including financial management support, event coordination, communication management, and administrative support. He also supervises a team of employees who oversee the administrative functions of CREC.

He is responsible for the logistical coordination and execution of multiple events across all the associations managed by CREC including annual conferences, webinars, meetings, and trainings, including those for C2ER/LMI Institute (with over 250 attendees), APDU (Association of Public Data Users) (with over 200 attendees), UEDA (University Economic Development Association) (with over 100 attendees), and PMP (Projections Managing Partnership) (with over 180 attendees). Additionally, he manages the logistics and execution of 15+ in-person or virtual trainings per year, with an average of 30+ attendees per event.

In addition to event coordination, Mr. Abrams oversees C2ER’s communication programs, which include designing, editing, and distributing weekly email updates, as well as managing the organization’s social media accounts. He also manages the team responsible for the invoicing of subscribers and members, and maintenance of multiple membership databases. As an integral part of CREC’s marketing team, he helps design and implement marketing strategies for events, subscriptions, and membership programs.

Before joining CREC, Mr. Abrams gained 17 years of experience in business and operational management, with a focus on business operations, budgeting, personnel management, and training. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from Towson State University.
