The Labor Market Information Institute is the pre-eminent resource for supporting the development, interpretation, and use labor market information.  The Institute supports and promotes the production and use of high-quality workforce and employment information by (1) providing training and professional development to state and other LMI professionals; (2) improving the knowledge, skills, and understanding of LMI customers; (3) offering management, staffing, and coordination to support the nationwide LMI infrastructure; and (4) fostering and encouraging the use of local, state, and national LMI in decision-making related to workforce development, economic development, education, and other relevant policy areas.  CREC facilitates the LMI Institute by managing membership relations and recruitment, supporting the website (www.lmiontheweb.org), conducting training and education, coordinating the annual forum, and undertaking relevant research and technical assistance.
