Marie Xu
Research Analyst

Marie Xu is a Research Analyst on the Research Team. She is passionate about applying mixed method approaches to inform data-driven strategies in workforce and economic development. Marie has contributed to a range of applied research projects—from emerging industries’ talent pipeline development to comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) planning, program evaluation, and technical assistance. Her current project portfolio includes Credential Engine’s Counting Credentials, the ARC Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Grant Evaluation, Mobilizing Data for Student Success, Missouri’s statewide CEDS, the Data User Insights Academy, and CREC’s quarterly COLI data collection.

Prior to joining CREC, Marie analyzed over half a million responses from the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey for the Survey Analysis group at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), in which she provided insights and recommendations on how work modes affect organizational effectiveness.

Marie holds a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University and a BA in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego.
