Board Strategy Retreat

Partners for Performance – Erie PA

The Center for Regional Economic Competitiveness partnered with Workforce Systems Associates to engage a group of 45 to 50 participants in a two-day strategic planning retreat in Erie, PA on May 1-2, 2015.  The planning retreat engaged board members for Partners Performance, the workforce investment board (WIB) of northwest Pennsylvania.  The board consists of employers, elected officials, economic developers, educators and members of the community comprising six counties in Northwest Pennsylvania: Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Forest, Venango and Warren counties.  Primary goals of the strategy retreat included: assessing regional gaps related to workplace preparedness, incumbent worker training and vocational training programs; identifying opportunities to increase innovation, collaboration and effectiveness; integrating other regional initiatives; incorporating national best practices; and enhancing buy-in from critical regional partners.
