Counting Credentials in Alabama
Working collaboration with Credential Engine, CREC conducted research designed to help the Alabama Governor’s Office of Education and Workforce Transformation (GOEWT) in developing an approach to measuring how well the state is doing in measuring its postsecondary educational attainment goal. Through collaborative research with GOEWT and Credential Engine, CREC connected with Alabama subject matter experts, identify state-specific credential data sources and data sharing agreements, and contribute to the project’s communication plan. In addition, CREC helped GOEWT by producing an Alabama Credential Inventory, producing estimates of attainment, and earning levels for credential held by different populations, regions, credential types or industries, as well as refining insights about the value of credentials.
