Project Profile

Jobs and Employment Data Exchange (JEDx)

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation (USCCF)
Start Date: Dec 2023 — End Date: Sep 2025

The JEDx initiative is an effort coordinated by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation that seeks to develop a public-private approach for collecting and using standards-based jobs and employment data across states. CREC is playing an advisory role by helping to inform: the ongoing development of a standardized data model for employment and wage data gathered through state Unemployment Insurance (UI) records; the dissemination and use of this model in benchmarking existing state data; and the development of pilot testing plans by a handful of states to implement the data model as well as an open API for data sharing between employer HR systems and state government agencies. This is part of the Chamber of Commerce’s ongoing efforts to develop a more comprehensive employment record that could lower employer costs for reporting data to government, improve workforce analytics, and empower learners and workers with a validated employment record.
