On May 1-2, 2013, Martin Romitti met with officials from Empire State Development and Albany-based Center for Economic Growth about the region’s growing nanotechnology research and semiconductor manufacturing cluster.

Martin Romitti, Senior Vice President at CREC, spoke about the highly competitive landscape for state and regional economic development at the South Dakota Governor’s Economic Development Conference held in Sioux Falls on April 16-17, 2013.

On April 16th and 17th, Ken Poole, Mark White, and Ron Kelly delivered a two-day training to Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) members in Toronto and Thunderbay.

On April 3, Mark White, VP for Research, interviewed key personnel from Tioga County Department of Economic Development and Planning at Owego, NY, regarding their economic development strategies.

In the week of March 25, Ken Poole, Mark White, and Wen Sun delivered a four-day training on cluster and occupational analysis to Carlifornia Employment Development Department staff in Sacramento, CA.

On March 9, Ken Poole and Wen Sun conducted a training on data-driven target business and occupational analysis at National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB) pre-conference session.

On March 7, CREC staff and partners conducted kick-off meeting with U.S Department of Treasury officials to lauch project to support the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) lending program.

Ken Poole and Ron Kelly traveled to Erie, PA to conduct a meeting with the Destination Erie Economy and Workforce Working Group.

CREC recently won a federal contract to support the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) lending program of the U.S. Department of Treasury.

In February, CREC staff faciliated brainstorming sessions at the Bureau of Economic Analysis, the Census Bureau, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics to stimulate innovations in data production and dissemination.
